Welcome to this English blog!

Welcome! Hi everyone!

I´m an English teacher and I´m starting this blog in order to help you guys to improve your English and have more practice.

So, if your studying English as a second language and you are a pre-intermediate student, this blog is for you. I will be uploading extra practice activities that might help you.

We are going to start with unit 9 (time contrast) of the Interchange level 2 4th edition by Cambridge University Press.

Before we start, let´s remember the structures in past, present and future.

Past: Last year, I studied English in England
Present: I study English everyday.
Future: I am going to study English next year.

Time contrast: Past, Present and Future

Hello everyone!!

In this post we´re going to learn how to structure sentences using time contrast.


Here are some examples with different topics:

First activity.
Watch the video and answer the following questions. Make sure to use time expressions.

1. How the world population has changed since 1913?

2. How the car industry has changed in 100 years?

3. How has pollution affected wild life?



Second activity.
In this exercise you can practice the correct use of the verbs. Read carefully and fill in the blanks with the verbs in parenthesis.

1. In twenty years I (be) _______________ 45 years old.

2. Now, I (be) _______________ 25.

3. Christmas (be) __________________ on Saturday this year.

4. Jack (like) _____________ going dancing. Last week he (go) ___________ to a disco and (spend) ________________ four hours there.

5. Bye for now. I (see) __________________ you in two weeks.


Third activity.
Describe how your life have changed in the past ten years. Write sentences using past, present and future. Don´t forget to use time expressions.
